Anna Ruth Myers

The Nurtured Child was founded in 2009 by Anna Ruth Myers to fulfill a need for pregnancy, birth, and early childhood support and care for families living in the New York City area. All of our services are based on the belief that pregnancy and birth are normal and healthy events in a women’s life, and on the premise that respecting children is the key to being able to properly care for them.

With over 5 years of experience in childbirth and early childhood education, Anna Ruth has much confidence and ease with families and their little ones. As a certified doula and childbirth educator, she has supported over 40 families through
pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. With graduate studies in child
development, and both Montessori and Waldorf-based teacher training, Anna Ruth brings a holistic
view of the young child to her work as a care provider and class facilitator.
Anna Ruth lives in Greenwich Village with her husband of 6 years, Adam. She
enjoys yoga, knitting, blogging, and leading a double life as a theatre artist.
With the flexibility to work days and evenings, the experience to assist with many
different issues, and the willingness to work with all kinds of families, her goal is for
every family to feel supported and cared for.
