Parent/Child Classes

Parent/Child classes offer time for conversation and sharing with other parents, observation and discussion of infant and toddler behavior, and a safe natural environment for children to explore and learn songs, verses and activities. Adapting the infant/toddler observation practices of Dr. Emmi Pikler and Magda Gerber, parents learn how to assess a child’s needs at different developmental stages and how to support rather than obstruct the child’s natural growth.

Spring class for infants 6-12 months. Meets each Tuesday 1:30-3:00pm and runs for 12 weeks. Dates: 2/28, 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27, 4/3, 4/24, 5/1, 5/8, 5/15, 5/22 & 5/29.  Tuition is $780 for 12 sessions.

Spring class for toddlers 13-18 months. Meets each Thursday 1:30-3:00pm and runs for 9 weeks. Dates: 3/22, 3/29, 4/5, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10, 5/17, 5/24 & 5/31. Tuition is $585 for 9 weeks.

Classes are held at New Amsterdam Early Childhood Center 1 Avenue B (at Houston Street) New York, NY 10009.
